Pawnbarian is a simple, but fascinating little game where brains are infinitely more useful than brawn. The name might be a play on the word barbarian, but it’s definitely less of an “I would like to rage” type game. And more of an ” I proclaim my intention of luxuriating in the splendor of my wrathful indignation” kind of game.
If Risk of Rain and Doom had a baby, it would probably look a lot like Slayers Inc. The game wears its inspirations on its sleeve, but I’d say it’s less of an imitation and more of a homage, especially to Risk or Rain.
Embr manages to stand apart from most party games in two ways. For one it’s played from a first-person perspective, and secondly, it ain’t half bad as a single-player experience. That’s an achievement, not even granddaddy Overcooked can claim.
Sheltered 2 feels like an interesting combination of several other games. The Sims meets Rimworld with a healthy splash of Fallout Shelter and Oxygen Not Included. The result is something is that feels unique.
