Arc Raiders isn’t merely an extraction shooter. It’s an extraction shooter that is so perfectly well-made that it offers some of the most emergent gameplay moments and organic storytelling that I’ve ever seen. I’ve always said that the best stories a game can tell are the ones that are organically told through gameplay, and every day that I play Arc Raiders, I have stories to tell.
Nature is an evolution of well, Evolution, the board game. I was pretty fond of Evolution, and Nature doesn’t stray too far from its roots, at least conceptually.
In Nature, you are evolving a handful of species, and it’s the survival of the fittest. Food can be scarce, and you have to evolve your species in a way that allows them to eat when the going gets tough.
Reviewing Ghost of Yotei is interesting to me because I loved Ghost of Tsushima. Furthermore, Ghost of Tsushima had some initial issues for me that were later fixed, and Yotei comes with those changes right out of the gate. Yet, I’m still not as warm on Ghost of Yotei as I was expecting to be.
Let’s get it out of the way now. LEGO Party is Mario Party with a LEGO skin. That fact means that it lacks the charm of recognizable characters and can’t pull content from a legacy dating back before I was born.
On the other hand, LEGO Party is playable without owning a console by an uncompromising, creatively bankrupt, litigious company kept afloat by nostalgia-driven folks trying to relive a happier time. So I have to give it a point in its favor for that alone.
