Throw a fit about it if you want, but Souls-like is pretty much a genre now. The souls series have spawned dozens of games. Some are lovingly inspired, while others are bargain bin knock offs.
Destroy All Humans is actually a remastered version of the original game that released in 2005. It was rebuilt from the ground up and probed with enhancements, but it is still the same game. I never played the original, so I came into Destroy All Humans with a fresh perspective, for better or worse.
Neon Abyss isn’t much for story, supposedly you’re helping Hade’s boot out the new and more modern Gods from the underworld. Yet since a sketchy figure in a suit hands you a drink right before you plummet into the Abyss, I’m inclined to believe you’re just tripping really hard.
