MechWarrior 5 Mercenaries Updated Review and Buyers Guide

MechWarrior 5 Mercenaries – Worth it in 2026? Updated Review & Buyers Guide

If you’re a fan of mechs you don’t exactly have a lot of options out there when it comes to video games, especially if you want to be in the pilot seat of one. If you’re like me and prefer mechs to be slow moving monstrous bipedal tanks as opposed to lightning speed anime characters in a suit of armor, you really only have two choices. MechWarrior 5 Mercenaries, and MechWarrior 5 Clans. If you want the game to actually be good, you’re left with just Mercenaries. Sorry Clanners, your game just isn’t for me.

Marathon review

Marathon Has an Identity Crisis: A Review

Marathon’s a fascinating experience for me. I have enough to criticize about it that I likely would have dropped a lesser game altogether. However, Bungie is good at shooters, and you can really feel that long running pedigree in Marathon, it simply feels good to play. So much so, that I’m continuing to play it despite the fact that I think it has a real identity issue. Not aesthetically, of course. The brightly colored visuals, unique setting and AI Corpo lore are another high point for the game.

Battlefield definitely isn't back yet.

Battlefield Definitely Isn’t Back (Yet)

Battlefield’s identity has always been about large-scale combined arms warfare, at least up until the hero shooter TEMU version that was 2042. As Battlefield 6 finished up its two open betas, I’ve seen plenty of sentiments proclaiming that Battlefield is back, baby! Yet as an old-time fan, I feel like I’ve woken up in a bizarro world.

Now don’t me wrong, there is a lot I liked about the beta. It’s certainly better than 2042, but that’s not saying much considering the bar was quite literally on the floor. However, the large-scale combat and combined arms both felt notably missing in the beta. There were moments where, if you had handed me the game blind and told me it was Call of Duty without the crossover madness, I might have believed you.

Wild Gate Review

Wild Gate Review: An Incredibly Unbalanced Game

Wild Gate is a competitive multiplayer game that actually tries to be different. Considering the current homogeneous nature of the game industry, that automatically wins some points from me. The closest game to Wild Gate would be Sea of Thieves, but Wild Gate condenses a similar experience down into 15 to 40-minute match times.
