Days Gone is a slow burn, slower than most. I almost quit during the first several hours. Not because the game was boring, but it just didn’t grab me. However, the longer you play Days Gone the more it grows from both a gameplay and story standpoint. In the end, I’m very glad I stuck around.
Spider-Man Game Of The Year Edition is an open-world action game where you play as everyone’s favorite web-slinger. You traverse New York City in true Spider-Man style, swinging and zipping around, between and over buildings. Stopping every now and then to pummel some bad guys, pick up a collectible or solve a puzzle.
Death Stranding is an interesting game. It is a big name triple A title that scoffs at mainstream appeal. The game-play will absolutely not connect with everyone. That doesn’t make it bad by any means, but it is incredibly rare to see that done in one of the biggest releases of a generation. For the sake of this review, I need to spoil some game-play aspects, but I keep story spoilers to a minimum.
Citadel is an online sandbox game similar in nature to games such as Ark Survival Evolved, Conan Exiles or Rust. In it, you play a freshly forged wizard or witch. You are free to pursue your path to mastery in whatever fashion you see fit. You can go it alone or create a wizarding house and invite some friends. No sorting hat required!
Age Of Wonders: Planetfall shocked me with its depth. It is pretty easy to learn but its strategical roots run deep. It is a rabbit hole you can easily get lost in as hours vanish when they felt like mere minutes.
Fade To Silence is a hardcore survival game that acknowledges one of the world’s many truths, winter is evil. Look, if your one of those people who can’t wait for summer to be over, I don’t begrudge you that. But I would personally rather die in a pool of my own sweat than ever see another snowflake again.
