Total War: Warhammer 2 is an incredibly massive game made even larger by an assortment of DLC. The game is played in two halves, the strategy map where you manage your empire, the city’s and units’ turn-based grand strategy style, and the real-time battles when two or more armies meet.
Invasions expands Planetfall with a new Playable faction complete with its own campaign, a minor NPC faction, and a handful of new features. The Shakarn are a race of lizards playing off of the conspiracy trope of secret lizard people hidden within society.
Circadian Dice is a strategical dice building game. If you are unfamiliar with the term, a deck-building game usually involves cards and the player actively constructs the deck they are using as they play, rather than beforehand.
Fort Triumph blends the strategical and exploration of Heroes Of Might And Magic with the turn-based tactical combat of the X-COM series. While it’s a more lightweight game than either of those, it’s held together by a unique physics-based system that permeates nearly every aspect of the combat.
Deep Sky Derelicts combines tactical card-based combat with free from procedural exploration, challenging difficulty and RPG elements. You create a team of three scavengers from several classes and use them to explore old space ship derelicts in search of scrap and data.
It’s no secret that Bannerlord was my most anticipated game for years. I definitely had a moment of disbelief when it was finally downloading on my computer. That amount of hype can be a bad thing. I’ve set myself up for disappointment in the past (I’m looking at you Spore!). So did Bannerlord disappoint me? No, yes and no again.
Horizons Gate is an open-world turn-based tactics game available on Steam and Itch.io. Joseph Pugh conducted this review. Overview For many years I had a
I reviewed the base game, Ark Survival Evolved sometime ago. I’m bringing this up because it is very important for the context of this review. I’m not happy with my original Ark review and score. It happens, I’m not perfect and hindsight is 2020. Ark is one of my favorite games, I have numerous hours in it and I constantly go back to it. Yet I scored it low.
Out Of Space is about powering up randomly generated space stations infested by filthy alien critters. The goal is to power every room with a battery while combating an alien menace that constantly impedes your progress. Yet you and your team must also manage to live together, often in cramped quarters until the work is done.
Sky Cannoneer is a fortress artillery game inspired by a classic game called Rampart. Every match is played out in several short phases, each lasting only around twenty seconds.
Unrailed falls into the same category as chaotic co-op games such as Overcooked, but the concept is incredibly unique. You must guide an increasingly faster train from station to station without letting it derail or crash. You accomplish this by cutting trees and mining rocks, both to clear a path and to use those resources to craft train tracks to forge the train’s route.
Mortal Glory is a turn-based game about gladiatorial combat. The graphics are simplistic but graceful with its old school charm. You recruit, upgrade, and outfit a group of gladiators to battle within the fiendish arena.
Kofi Quest: Alpha mod is a comedic game following the adventures of Kofi. Kofi is a low-level lazy video game character who shares a house with his equally pathetic friend, Slime. The inhabitants of Kofi Quest know they are in a video game and it features a lot of tongue in cheek humor that riffs on that theme.
Graywalkers: Purgatory is an early access turn-based RPG available on Steam. Joseph Pugh conducted this review. If you enjoy my content, consider buying me a
There used to be several flash games called falling sand. They weren’t true games, they were closer to toys but they were still a ton of fun. They were physics-based and usually simulated various powders, liquids and gases and their effects on each other. Wood would burn, water would put out fires but the heat would turn it to steam for exampl
When I reviewed Age of Wonders: Planetfall. It turned out to be one of my favorite games of the year. Revelations is a content expansion that adds a brand new secret tech, NPC faction, mini-campaign, and some juicy new game mechanics.
